Xbox 360 controllers how many

Most games will use four or fewer. With daisy chaining, you can add a lot of hubs, and therefore, a large albeit finite number of USB devices.

Using the Rockband USB Hub, which appeared to be nothing special, I've had 4 wired controllers active on a box, using the 2 front ports only. Note that the hub required external power. Additionally it can support three wired controllers through the use of its USB ports two in front, one in back. The wired controller cords are nine feet in length and are breakaway similar to those used with the Xbox. The controller for the Xbox is a similar yet improved version of the Type-S gamepad for the Xbox.

The Xbox controller adds the new feature of the Xbox guide button, which has the appearance of the Xbox emblem and is surrounded by a ring of light. Pressing the Xbox guide button will bring the Xbox out of sleep mode or instantly bring up the "Xbox Guide".

The ring of light lights up to designate what controller "port" the gamepad is currently using and which console if more than one the controller is connected to. The black and white buttons have been redesigned as shoulder buttons, now referred to as bumper buttons, located above the left and right triggers. The rear of the controller has been redesigned to include a new port where the player can connect a headset. The new port replaces the two non-standard USB connectors on the front of the Xbox controller.

This beauty was offered to the greater part of the world, but never in America. The black S is essentially the same as the old model, with a few minor differences. The guide button now has an ultra cool chrome finish, the bottom plate is black, and the d-pad and thumbsticks are black.

These are offered in stores, but stock seems to be trickling out slowly. The cool d-pad addresses accuracy issues, but the thumbsticks lack the four small nubs that keep your thumbs grounded.

We recommend picking up a replacement pair of thumbsticks and going old school. It looks much better. Released just this past October the Black Transforming D-Pad controller is available only in a charge-n-play kit. You can find aftermarket shells like this, or have it done to your original black controller, both for about half the price or less.

You also get the transforming d-pad and little 3P0-themed wires painted onto the bottom plate. Unless you want to drop big money on a limited edition console odds are better looking for a custom gold chrome shell. Released in May this year, these are available, but expensive. Originally bundled with the Halo 3 console you can find replacement Halo 3 Green shells just about anywhere on the web.

Our recommendation is to create a look alike with one of your existing controllers. The real McCoy is not only hard to find, but drown amidst a sea of copycats. Finding stock replacement parts is difficult as well, but some of our favorite resellers still have a few on their shelves if you just want to refresh the look of your old controller. These controllers were quite popular on store shelves or something, because these seem to be more available than most game-themed special edition controllers.

They were reportedly available both with the limited edition Halo Reach console and separately, so that might have something to do with it. Sites that offer rapid fire conversions often keep these in stock as they seem to be a favorite amongst cheaters enthusiasts. Resellers have been pulling the shells and selling them on eBay, but as of now all are sold, and some even went for more than the price of a new controller. You can reduce this risk further by not allowing the controller cables to become tangled.

The expansion port on the Xbox wireless controller lets you connect optional accessories, such as the Xbox Headset. Note The expansion port is under the directional pad D-pad and the right stick on the controller. Xbox controller for Windows software. The Xbox controller for Windows software lets you use a wired Xbox controller with a computer that is running Microsoft Windows. For information about how to do this, see How to set up an Xbox controller for Windows.

Refer to your game documentation for information about how to configure the controller for a specific game. Did this resolve the issue? Yes No.
